Repurposing and Extension of Part of Goričanka into a Kindergarten

We will soon begin the work on the repurposing and extension of part of Goričanka for five additional preschool groups of the Kindergarten.

The project plans to repurpose and reconstruct the functional unit of the garage with storage for non-flammable materials and administrative space with changing rooms and sanitary facilities into a kindergarten space; to extend the entrance porch with a canopy and partially covered terraces for the kindergarten and nursery units; and to arrange the children’s playground on the existing grassy area along the southeastern and southwestern boundaries, as well as to remove and adapt the existing parking spaces.

The area covered by the planned intervention is a total of 857 m² and is located in the southern part of the main building. The intervention plans to repurpose and subdivide part of the garage into space for two more kindergarten groups and three nursery groups.

The space will be reconstructed by demolishing, subdividing, and separating areas for the kindergarten and nursery units, as well as spaces for kindergarten staff and a kitchen. A new entrance porch with a canopy and new terraces will be built. The children’s playground will be arranged with an area of 1,825 m². Some parking spaces will be removed, and ten trees will be planted in their place, along with another 26 on the green area.”
